Nominees for Director at Large (who may be appointed Treasurer)
"My name is April Forrest, and I am a Registered Cardiology Technologist in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan where I have been working as Registered Tech for 20 years. I started volunteering for the Saskatchewan Cardiology Technologist Association (SCTA) in October 2017 as the CEU Coordinator. In February of 2019, I stepped into the role as the interim Saskatchewan Provincial Director, being voted in at our AGM in May 2020. During my time on the CSCT board, I have served and continue to serve on multiple committees. I am currently the chair of the CCC Education Day and AGM Planning Committee, as well as the chair of the CEU Committee. Over the past 18 months I have taken an interest in the Treasurer's position and have been paying close attention to the role that our outgoing Treasurer Karen fulfills. I have learned a lot from her over the last year and, given the chance, I look forward to continuing to contribute to our association in a different capacity. I know that my attention to detail, my organizational skills, and my love of numbers will help me to be successful in this role. " | "My name is Tonya Morrell, and I live in Eastern Passage, NS. I have been a Registered Cardiology Technologist since 2007. I currently work at Dartmouth General Hospital. I became involved with my Provincial Association in 2010 and have held various positions such as Treasurer/ Registrar, Vice President, President and Provincial Director. In 2018, I took a few years off from the association to focus on teaching and, in 2021, I was voted back in as President. I became involved with the CSCT level while working as Provincial Treasurer/ Registrar and then as the Provincial Director from 2012 for a few years. In October 2012, I became Vice President of CSCT and then President from August- October 2015. I got involved with the board because I wanted to be able to have a say in how the profession is run and to also meet other members across Canada and see how their provinces and hospitals work. When I am not working, I am in a book club, enjoy knitting, spending time at my trailer and travel with my family and friends. I live with my husband of 26 years. I also have two daughters- Sara (25) and Isabella (18)- and our rescue dog Nitro who turns 7 this summer. Thank you for your time" |
Nominee for Education Director |
" My name is Emily Coffey, and I am a Registered Cardiology Technologist from Windsor-Essex County in Ontario. I have been actively volunteering with CSCT since graduation from St. Clair College and became a member in 2016. I started on the Exam Committee and quickly took on more responsibility as the Assistant Education Director. I was eventually elected as the Education Director in 2018. I have played a key role in the development of CSCT's defensible Certification Exam and the transition of this exam to an online, virtual proctored platform. I personally oversee the exam administration process and enjoy seeing successful exam candidates become new members of our growing society. I have also had a hand in fine-tuning CSCT's CEU Standards to ensure all of our members stay up to date with ever-changing technology and advancements in Cardiology. Although I have recently been pursuing a career as a Cardiac Sonographer, I am still very much immersed in Cardiology and invested in the future of CSCT. I am looking forward to seeing CSCT evolve in the coming years and would love to continue being actively involved in creating meaningful change for our profession." |
