Hello CSCT members. My name is Karen Schaus. I live in Fredericton NB.  I have been an active member of the Canadian Society of Cardiology Technologists for 39 years. 

I have served on the New Brunswick Provincial Board before becoming the current CSCT Treasurer. This is a position that I have proudly held since October 28, 1995.

In 2004, I approached the federal government for funding to finance the development of an online national exam using interactive videos. I was able to obtain two government grants totaling $148,000. 

Since taking on the role of the CSCT Treasurer over 26 years ago, the national dues have increased by only $15. This is a result of receiving federal government funding and the diligence of the CSCT Board of Directors to adhere to the budgets that are presented annually.

I am currently a member of the CSCT Executive committee, Strategic planning committee, Canadian Cardiovascular Society Scientific Program committee, History committee and Remuneration committee. It would be my honor to serve as your Treasurer for another term.

Emily began volunteering with the CSCT shortly after graduating from St. Clair College in 2016.  She was an active member of the CSCT Exam Committee before moving into the Assistant Education Director’s role.  Emily eventually took over the Education Director position on the Board of Director’s in 2018 and has remained in that role ever since.  Majority of her work with CSCT revolves around the Certification Exam registration, administration and releasing exam results
